Alan R Shuster, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Alan R. Shuster, M.D. was born in Michigan and grew up in Miami, Florida. Dr. Shuster is a graduate of the University of Florida (U.F.) Honors Program where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Shuster received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the University Of Miami School Of Medicine where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), graduating in the top 10% of his class and was elected President of his medical school’s senior class. Dr. Shuster was also elected President of the University of Miami Chapter of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) – the nation’s largest chapter. Upon completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Cabrini Medical Center/New York Medical College, Dr. Shuster was selected by his peers and attending physicians as “Intern of the Year”. Dr. Shuster became a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and completed Eye Surgery Residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Shuster is board certified (and re-certified) by the American Board of Ophthalmology, by the American Board of Eye Surgery in the sub-specialty of Cataract – Implant Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Dr. Shuster has been chosen by peers as one of Florida’s Top Doctors/Ophthalmologists in Consumers’ Guide to Top Doctors by Consumers Checkbook. Dr. Shuster is an original investigator for FDA approval of the Tecnis aspheric intraocular lens implant.
Dr. Shuster has spent the last 20 years in private practice as a leader in providing the highest quality eye care to the Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens area. He looks forward to offering you the most advanced surgical intraocular lens technology and eye care in South Florida.

LASIK Self-Evaluation Test
Find out if you can be a LASIK candidate. Take our LASIK self-evaluation test and you will be evaluated and contacted by one of our LASIK coordinators to discuss your candidacy. If you meet the requirements of our test we will suggest an in person pre-operative eye exam. This eye exam is a complete eye health eye exam and will most likely be one of the most thorough eye exams of your life. We obviously take your vision very seriously at Benaim-Shuster Eye.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery procedure that removes the excess eyelid skin which can sometimes impair eyesight as part of the natural aging process.
